This measure was not put on an election ballot |
The Missouri "Fair Elections Act" did not appear on the November 2012 ballot in the state of Missouri as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. The measure would have changed the margin by which lawmakers must unanimously override an initiative and create a citizens commission appointed by legislative leaders to approve ballot descriptions.[1][2]
The proposed legislation was expected to be filed for discussion in Missouri's 2012 legislative session. It was supported by Rep. Shane Schoeller.[1]
Path to the ballot
In order to qualify for the ballot, the measure required approval by a majority of the members of each chamber of the Missouri General Assembly.
